Terms of Service
Effective date: October 2, 2026
1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites, applications, software, and services provided by Do I Have a Case? ("Do I Have a Case?", "we", "us", or "our").
By accessing or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the services.
2. Our Services
Do I Have a Case? provides software designed to collect, organize, and structure information about potential legal matters, including a consumer-facing conversational intake and an attorney marketplace.
Consumers may submit information about legal situations. We may create an identity-protected preview for participating attorneys and, after a marketplace purchase, make the associated private case file and authorized contact information available to the purchasing attorney or law firm.
3. Not a Law Firm or Legal Advice
Do I Have a Case? is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
Our services, including any AI-generated questions, summaries, organization, classifications, scores, or other outputs, are provided for intake and organizational purposes only.
Nothing provided through our services should be interpreted as legal advice, a legal opinion, or a determination that you have or do not have a legal claim.
Use of our services does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Do I Have a Case?
4. Attorney Review
Attorneys and law firms are responsible for independently reviewing information received through the platform and making their own legal judgments.
Do I Have a Case? does not guarantee that an attorney will accept a matter, contact a person, provide legal services, or determine that a legal claim exists.
5. User Information
You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to provide that information.
By submitting an intake, you authorize us to process and organize the information you provide, create an identity-protected marketplace preview, and present that preview to participating attorneys or law firms. If a participating attorney or law firm purchases the matter, you authorize us to provide that purchaser with the private case file and the contact information you submitted so that it may contact you about the matter.
You should not submit passwords, payment-card information, or other highly sensitive credentials through an intake unless the service specifically requests that information.
6. Law-Firm Accounts
Attorney accounts are intended for attorneys and authorized law firm personnel. You must provide accurate account information, maintain the security of your account, and ensure that each person using it is authorized to do so.
Attorneys and law firms are responsible for their own legal, ethical, regulatory, privacy, conflict-checking, and professional obligations relating to information received through the platform.
7. Marketplace Purchases
Participating attorneys and law firms may purchase available marketplace matters on a one-time basis. Marketplace purchases are not subscriptions.
The price and applicable pricing tier for a matter are displayed before checkout. Payment processing is provided by our third-party payment processor. By completing checkout, you authorize the charge shown at checkout to your selected payment method.
An available matter is intended to be sold to one purchasing attorney or law firm. Availability is not guaranteed until payment is successfully processed. After a completed purchase, the matter is removed from the marketplace and the purchaser is given authorized access to the related private case file and contact information.
Because private information can be made available promptly after a completed purchase, marketplace purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by applicable law or where we expressly state otherwise in writing.
8. Attorney Marketplace Use
A marketplace purchase does not create an attorney-client relationship between the purchaser and a consumer, and it does not guarantee that a consumer will respond, retain the purchaser, or have a viable legal claim. Attorneys and law firms must make their own independent evaluation of every matter.
Attorneys and law firms may use information received through the marketplace only to evaluate, contact, and, where appropriate, provide legal services to the consumer in connection with the matter, subject to their legal and professional obligations. They may not sell, scrape, publish, or use that information for an unrelated purpose.
9. Acceptable Use
You may not use the services to:
- Violate applicable laws or regulations.
- Impersonate another person or organization.
- Gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or information.
- Upload malicious code or interfere with the operation of the services.
- Abuse, scrape, reverse engineer, or circumvent technical restrictions except where permitted by law.
- Use the services in a manner that creates unreasonable risk or harm to other users, attorneys, law firms, or the platform.
10. AI-Generated Content
Our services use artificial intelligence and automated processing. AI systems can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information.
You should not rely on AI-generated information as a substitute for professional legal judgment.
Attorneys and law firms remain responsible for independently evaluating matters and information presented through the platform.
11. Intellectual Property
The services, software, design, branding, and other materials provided by Do I Have a Case? are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You retain rights in information you submit, subject to the rights and licenses reasonably necessary for us to provide the services and as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Third-Party Services
Our services may rely on or link to third-party services. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We do not guarantee that the services will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or suitable for any particular purpose.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Do I Have a Case? and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of the services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the services during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim or $100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.
15. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the services if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, created a security or legal risk, or used the services in an abusive or unlawful manner.
We may also discontinue or materially change the services, subject to applicable law and any obligations we may have to paying customers.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When material changes are made, we may update the effective date or provide additional notice where appropriate.
